Life Like Moving Pictures | Out Now
Life Like Moving Pictures is the third release by Dylan Citron, known by their stage name Bedbug. Intended to be the end of a trilogy that started with If I Got Smaller, Grew Wings and Flew Away for Good, their newest record explores feelings of nostalgia, sentimentality, and directionless idling, all through the familiar cassette warmth that they are known for. While themes of gender, socialism and Chicanx pride are present, bedbug's evocative lyricism is bound to resonate far beyond any singular interpretation. The album is an homage to the humble origins of the bedroom pop genre, with cozy synths, drum machines, and nylon strings all reminiscent of sleeping bags in attics, buzzing insects in rainforests, and string lights in dorm rooms.
